Black Google Canada for the moment.

Google Canada currently has a black background, albeit this is to raise awareness for Earth Hour. I wrote about Google, and Google going black, as opposed to their usual white background. However I later found a post of theirs from the official Google blog, that newer displays may actually use more power displaying black. So the black background is only good for old CRT monitors (the bulky television like ones).

Regardless, I find it interesting, and besides the predominant colour of web sites, I think it is more important to be environmentally friendly in other ways, more significant ways. Starting off from the computer, turn it off while not needing to be on, that includes speakers, subwoofers, etc. (see this). Beyond that, walk, bicycle, etc. if possible instead of driving. And there is so much more, not to mention demanding 'green' products from the companies we like, and getting the government off their behinds, and actually make progress.
